Call for Volunteers

WordCamp Port Harcourt is back and we are happy to open volunteer applications for the 2026 event. (We don land again and we need your help)

WordCamp is a community event/conference and volunteers play a very important role in making the event successful. From welcoming attendees to helping speakers and supporting activities, volunteers help everything run smoothly. (Na volunteers dey make am happen)

Why Volunteer at WordCamp Port Harcourt

Volunteering is more than just helping out. It is a great way to learn meet people and grow. (You go learn well well and meet correct people)

As a volunteer you will:

1. Be part of an active and friendly WordPress community (You go join correct tech family)

2. Gain real experience working on a large tech event (Real life experience no be theory)

3. Meet developers designers founders and creatives (Plenty people wey dey do things)

4. Learn new skills and build confidence (You go sharp and bold)

5. Receive a certificate of participation (You go get proof say you volunteer)

6. Get behind the scenes access to WordCamp Port Harcourt (You go see how event dey run from inside)

Whether you are a student beginner or professional there is a role for you. (Everybody get space)

Volunteer Roles Available

We are looking for volunteers for the roles below:

1. Registration Desk Support to welcome attendees and help with check in (You go dey front desk)

2. Venue Support to help with movement setup and general support at the venue (You go dey assist everywhere)

3. MC Master of Ceremony to help guide the program and keep sessions on time (If you sabi talk well)

4. Speaker Assistants to support speakers before and during their sessions (You go dey help speakers)

5. Photography to take photos during the event (If camera na your thing)

6. Videography to record sessions and special moments (If you sabi video work)

7. Content Writer and Blogging to write event stories recaps and updates (If you like write)

8. Social Media Manager to share live updates and engage online (If you dey active online)

9. Interview and Storytelling to talk to speakers attendees and sponsors (If you sabi gist people)

You do not need to be an expert. You only need to be committed friendly and willing to help. (Just come with good mind)

Who Can Apply

You can apply if you:

1. Are available on Saturday 21st February 2026 (You go dey free that day)

2. Can commit time before and during the event (You fit show up well)

3. Can work well with a team (You sabi work with people)

4. Are interested in WordPress tech or community building (You like tech or community work)

Students and first time volunteers are welcome. (No fear if na your first time)

How to Become a Volunteer

To apply:

1. Fill out the volunteer application form (Just fill the form)

2. Choose the role or roles you are interested in (Pick wetin you fit do)

3. Our team will review applications and contact selected volunteers (We go reach out)
