WordCamp Port Harcourt 2026 was not just another tech event on the calendar, it was a powerful reminder of what happens when community, creativity, and opportunity meet in one room. Organized under the global WordCamp umbrella and centered around the open-source platform WordPress, this year’s gathering brought together developers, designers, founders, marketers, students, and digital entrepreneurs who are passionate about building for the open web.

From the moment registration opened, there was a noticeable buzz. Conversations started early, people reconnecting with familiar faces, first-time attendees introducing themselves, freelancers meeting potential collaborators, agency owners exchanging ideas. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and unmistakably community-driven.
The speaker sessions set the tone for the day. Saifur-Rahman Yusuf, Daniel Ayoola, Gloria Ojukwu, Chiehiura Basil Nze, Yusuf Yuyu Odukoya, Bruce Lucas, Adebayo Chike, Barr. Promise Ochibry delivered thoughtful, practical sessions that spanned technical deep dives, performance and optimization, AI conversations, legal considerations for digital businesses, branding, and scaling sustainably. What stood out wasn’t just the expertise on stage, but the willingness to share real experiences, lessons learned, mistakes made, systems built, and opportunities ahead. Attendees didn’t just leave inspired; they left equipped.
Beyond the sessions, the real magic of WordCamp happened in the in-between moments, the hallway conversations, spontaneous brainstorming, group photos, shared laughter over beverages, and the quiet but powerful networking that will likely turn into future partnerships and projects. WordCamp Port Harcourt 2026 proved once again that community is the true infrastructure of the WordPress ecosystem.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Enyinnaya Delight, Igbiri-Goodluck Faith, Sylvanus P. Ezekiel, Esther Abasz, Nkiruka Amadi, Mary-Esther Osayimen, Jeff Ola. K, Firdaws Idris, Glorious Obo, Gabriel Waju, Omenuko Vera, Ebi Ukuta, Grace Chesa, Okonkwo Chijioke, Uche Finebone, Great, Praise Kelechi, Olayiwola Adeola Florence, Kennedy, Peace Chihurumnaya Ulor, Mbanugo Angelica, Mercy Solomon, Adedoyin Adeoye, Choose Isaac Columba, Kappo Solomon Opeyemi, Love Ozekhome gave their time, energy, coordination skills, and heart to ensure everything ran smoothly. Equally important were our community partners who amplified the event and stood with us in building something bigger than a single day. 3MTT, GDG Port Harcourt, GDG Cloud Port Harcourt, HerTechTrail, Olotu Square, Brela, Friends of Figma, Ryzly, Women Techmakers, Design Chi Training Academy, helped extend the reach and deepen the impact of WordCamp Port Harcourt 2026. Collaboration across communities is how ecosystems grow, and this year was a perfect example of that synergy in action.
Behind the scenes, months of planning, coordination, meetings, sponsorship outreach, speaker management, venue logistics, and community engagement went into bringing this vision to life. WordCamp events don’t organize themselves, they are built by committed individuals who believe in the power of open source and local community growth.
We would like to specially appreciate the organizing team whose leadership and dedication made WordCamp Port Harcourt 2026 a success.

Their commitment, resilience, and belief in the community laid the foundation for everything that happened on event day. Leadership in community work often happens quietly and behind the scenes, but its impact is deeply felt.
As the event came to a close, one thing was clear. WordCamp Port Harcourt is not just growing. It is maturing. The conversations are deeper. The ambitions are bigger. The talent pool is stronger. And the commitment to contributing to the global WordPress project is more evident than ever.
WordCamp Port Harcourt 2026 was a celebration of progress, possibility, and people.
The future is open. And we’re building it together. 💙
